Angair Wildflower & Art Weekend

Start Date

September 16, 2023

End Date

September 17, 2023
Anglesea Community Precinct, McMillan St
Angair’s famous Wildflower & Art Weekend is strictly indigenous this year!

Discover, explore and wonder at the amazingly diverse indigenous fauna and flora found in the extraordinary environment of the Surf Coast coastal hinterland.

The colourful flower displays will be only those beauties found naturally in the Surf Coast region. The art works will just depict indigenous plants and animals captured by local artists.

A very special and rare display will be the late John Landy’s fascinating collection of local butterflies and insects which he donated to Angair years ago. The show will also contain its popular regular features of guided wildflower walks around the district, indigenous plant sales and stalls by local environmental groups and organisations.

A children’s nature competition will keep the kids entertained during the first weekend of the school holidays. Extracts of the videos of the region’s gorgeous ground orchids, produced for the online Angair Nature Show, will screen in the main display area.

Remember: if you can’t make it to Anglesea for the live event, you can still pop into the virtual nature show at www.angairnatureshow.org.au

Angair, established in 1969, is an active conservation group dedicated to the protection of indigenous flora and fauna and to maintaining the natural beauty of Anglesea and Aireys Inlet and their local environments.
